Since creating Campbell's Restaurant in 1998, Robert and
Diane and their family continue to be involved in it on a daily basis. Robert
is the head chef and takes charge of an excellent team of chefs, adding to Campbell's
solid reputation for consistency of good food. Robert has thirty years
experience in the catering industry, as well as being an experienced
fisherman. Diane oversees the front of house, ensuring guests are well
looked after, allowing them to relax and enjoy the ambience. With an
interest in wines, she has helped compile a varied wine list for our
customers. Both Robert and Diane were born and brought up in Portpatrick
and have an affinity for the area and its people. They are proud of what
they have achieved and the asset Campbell's Restaurant has become to the
village, providing the local community and many guest houses, self
catering lets, and seafaring people with a good restaurant.
Our a la carte menu is available for both
lunch and dinner 6 days a week. A lunch time light bite choice is also
available, including open sandwiches, crepes and salads. We also offer a
Sunday Special table d'hote menu of two or three courses at lunch, or
in the evening, which is very popular for family occasions. A midweek
two course lunch special is available from Tuesday to Friday. The Sunday
and midweek menus change weekly. For vegetarians we have a small choice
of freshly prepared dishes. From the beginning of December to the 24th
our pre-Christmas menu is available, offering a five course menu, ideal
for large groups or a special meal for two.

As you take a seat at your table you will
notice the white linen, fresh flowers, candles, elegant
glassware and unusual rustic cutlery in front of you. Surrounding you are
shades of gold, green and blue, within the walls and drapes, emulating the
calmness of a seaside theme. The muted lighting and soft background music
adds to the overall experience, where every attention is paid to
detail. The staff are efficient, friendly and, in the evening, smartly dressed in their
brasserie style outfits in the evening. There is no dress code for
customers, we just want you relax and enjoy your evening when you come and
visit us.
From the extensive a la carte menu you can
choose a variety of dishes. Seafood is our speciality with lobster always
available, either to be eaten on its own or as part of our impressive seafood platter,
shellfish grill or `surf and turf '. Galloway beef steaks and Wigtownshire
lamb feature among our meat dishes. Thai green curry is a popular
vegetarian choice from our small selection. We are also renowned for our
choice of mouth-watering, freshly made desserts, chocolate marquise and
crème brulee being two favourites. Most of our food is sourced from the
nearby coastline and surrounding farming area, and our bread is made daily
on the premises. Campbell`s restaurant is open six days a
week, Tuesday - Sunday, throughout the year, for lunch and dinner. We are closed on
Christmas day and New Years day and usually for two weeks in February. Tuesday to Saturday we are open from 1200 to
2.30pm and from 6pm to 9.30pm. On Sunday we open from 12.30 to 2.30pm and
from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Reservations Advised!
